GYD 22 is a superb example of a Rolls-Royce 20/ 25 with versatile windovers inspired coachwork.
Chassis GYD 22 was supplied in August 1934 by Rolls-Royce to Windovers Ltd. where it received a saloon body for its first owner from Eastbourne. A comprehensive restoration was commissioned in 2005 including the creation of a fabulous Three Position Drophead body in the style of those produced in period by Windovers complete with a new fully lined mohair hood and a new leather upholstered interior. Following this restoration the car has seen sparing but regular use.
Mechanically. GYD 22 is in excellent working order with a total indicated mileage of just 77000. The history file includes various MoT certificates dating from 2001 and a UK V5. This charming Three Position Drophead oozes pre-war charm. and remains a vehicle in which to take great pride and satisfaction at a more affordable price than an original. The paint is in beautiful condition with a fetching two tone colour scheme complimented by the blue roof.
On the road the car drives beautifully pulling strongly in all gears & with a taut feel to the controls that one only finds on low mileage examples. The boot is capacious allowing for plenty of luggage. The car boasts twin side mounted spares giving an imposing frontal appearance.
Large doors make for easy ingress & egress. The rear seats are commodious making the car a true four seat tourer. All woodwork is in new highly polished condition. Oil presuure is excellent around 27lbs under load & the temperature gauge never exceeds 75 degrees.
The car in the last 5 years has been maintinaed without regard to cost & has had around £8, 000 spent upon it in recent serviing bills. It is thus in great condition & absolutley ready to go.
