Easily recognisable thanks to its small size, the Chappy enjoyed a long career lasting nearly 25 years and was offered in several versions. Its single-cylinder two-stroke engine was available in 50cc and 72cc variants and could be had with one of three transmissions: a 2-speed automatic, 3-speed semi-automatic or 4-speed manual.
The version that concerns us here is the 1F1 type equipped with a preselector gearbox. A lever is used to select the gear by hand, choosing between a long and a short ratio. The ‘Limited Edition’ model we are presenting here was completely refurbished a few years ago and is now in very good overall condition. Initially white, the seat was replaced this year by a new black one. Registered with French papers, this Chappy is ready to go back into service!
This car will be sold by auction by AGUTTES Auction House, in Paris, at the Espace Champerret, France, on June the 23th, 2019.
