Not our usual fayre but we simply couldn't resist offering this delightful Fiat X1/ 9 given its outstanding condition and long term ownership. An acclaimed two-seater mid-engined sports car designed by Bertone and initially manufactured by Fiat, the X1/ 9 was taken on directly by Bertone from 1982–1989. This car being registered in 1987 is one of the last to be made and is largely rust free.
With a transverse engine and gearbox in a mid engined, rear wheel drive format, the X1/ 9 was noted for its balanced handling, retractable headlights, lightweight-removable hardtop, front and rear-storage compartments.
The last local owner has had the car since 2007 and has used the car sparingly but kept it up and running, most of the mileage he covered was for the annual MoT.
Whilst we haven't carried out an extensive inspection, the car seems remarkably solid with little or no rot.
