Description
The car, although kept as original as possible, has had a few OEM plus upgrades.
To elevate the iconic Gandini wedge profile, the front lower valance was completely hand-fabricated from steel and finished in satin black, perfectly matching a bespoke back-date to Series 1 slimline corner bumpers via custom-engineered brackets.
The original factory seats have been fully detailed and preserved to match the genuine 42k-mile provenance, sitting on brand-new carpets.
The car has been mechanically thoroughly overhauled with the list detailed below.
Due to the rarity and fragility of original 1981 glass-mounted door mirrors, the car has been tastefully updated with door-mounted chrome/ black slimline mirrors.
These perfectly replicate the styling and door-placement of the early 1. 3-litre Series 1 models, matching the back-dated slimline bumper conversion.
The factory driver's side glass aperture has been neatly sealed with an OEM-style rubber grommet.
All replacement mechanical and suspension components sourced directly from classic Fiat specialists Eurosport UK, ensuring OEM-specification fitment and quality throughout.
Literally thousands spent to save this Italian classic.

This car is not concours condition as it was not a full restoration. However, the view was to save a classic and enjoy it.
The car still has its original interior and chrome trim etc so as to preserve the originality and history of the car rather than swapping everything out for shiny new bits and essentially having two cars in the garage.
If looked after and treated well, there is no reason why the car will not last in excess of at least another 40 years plus post its restoration.
The car has 5 speed gearbox and not 4, but the system won't allow me to change the details for some reason
This Fiat X19 was a purchased initially as a father & son project to enjoy for many years. However, due to my father’s unexpected passing it’s now become emotional keeping it as it won’t be enjoyed as intended.
Therefore, the car is for sale (reluctantly) as part of my late father’s estate with the V5 currently being in my father’s name so it’s a three-owner car.
The new owner will need to register the car for the purposes of obtaining Historic Vehicle Tax Exemption.
However, the car is both Road Tax Exempt & MOT Exempt due to being over 40 years old, with classic car insurance only costing circa £110 p. a. therefore making it cheap to run. At the time of writing this classified, this also enables the vehicle to be ULEZ exempt!
The previous owner purchased the car back in the early 90’s, and subsequently parked it in a dry barn, It had not turned a wheel until 2021 when being sold by the deceased’s family among other cars in the collection.
The car is a uniquely preserved, low-mileage UK survivor finished in its factory-original Champagne Metallic.
The car has just completed a lengthy (48 months) comprehensive lower-half bare-metal restoration, fully documented in a massive comprehensive A4 history binder photo album to show the journey and detailed mechanical parts list.
There were circa 160k X19’s (Fiat and Bertones) built between 1972 to 1989 and apparently there are currently only 294 left in the UK which now makes this a familiar yet rare car with numbers dwindling furthermore (circa 3, 460 in 1995) due to owners leaving them to rot or parting them out for spares.
Although the car has cost £17. 5k (initial cost of car, including parts and restoration labour etc), I am looking to recoup as close as I can to the investment and open to sensible offers
