Descripción
First registered in June 1986, C33 WRK was one of the earliest right hand drive ‘flat bonnet’ GTA Turbos in the UK, and was one of two Renault UK press demonstrators, featuring on the first series of ‘Top Gear’ ( Youtube search : VeZfitNtMks) as well as in contemporary (and more recent) motor magazine reviews.
It is in superb original condition throughout, and benefited from a documented major engine out mechanical overhaul and subtle upgrade at leading UK GTA specialist Renault Alpine Tuning Services, including engine rebuild with upgraded fast road cams, remapped RENIX ECU, upgraded turbocharger, injectors, clutch, full silicone hose set, high flow radiator, new stainless main coolant pipes, and much more. Last service was in June 19 and the MOT date is July 20.
The car has also been full body resprayed in its correct original Alpine colour and has had a fresh windscreen, decals & logos, headlamp covers & lenses, door rubbers, and so on – all the typical GTA issues have been covered. The iconic ‘turbine’ alloys have been refurbished, and the car has the correct wide section ‘steamroller’ Michelin MXW tyres on the rears. The 2+2 interior is also all – original. All efforts have been made to maintain the car in its original condition.
There is a comprehensive file with copious history, services & MOTs over the years. The car has been owned by both 'Club Alpine Renault (CAR)' and 'Renault Alpine Owners Club (RAOC)' members
For those in the know, these cars are low, light, direct and very agile, with pinpoint handling and remarkable grip & traction – in the dry! 1980s turbo lag is an inevitable reality but once on boost, the car gathers speed with alacrity, and for their day, GTAs were extremely aerodynamic. No driver aids, apart from an intimate connection to the road!
