72000 MILES, 27 STAMP HISTORY, LUXURY CLASSIC
Bought this car for my daughter’s wedding day, I’ve owned a few other Rolls / Bentleys and wanted a really nice one for the big day. I spent a lot of time looking, wasted a lot of time viewing poor quality offerings and travelled to London to buy this fine example, 1986 Bentley Mulsanne with only 72000 miles on the clock, 27 service stamps all by Rolls / Bentley with the previous owner caring for the car since 1990.

I’ve completed over 2000 trouble free and effortless miles in total comfort, starts, runs, drives and stops exactly as you’d expect, at motorway speed you can hear a pin drop in the cabin, just the occasional creak of leather is all you’ll hear.
Finished in deep ocean blue with double pin stripe the coachwork is very well presented, the optional chrome grill and flying “B” really finishing off the prestige look, a very impressive arrival as you glide up in gleaming blue and chrome.
The interior is finished in unmarked magnolia leather with dark blue piping, no signs of wear, cracking or fading, never been touched up, re-connalised or painted, totally original. Matching leather head lining and door cards, a dark blue top roll and magnolia bottom roll on the dash. All the wood door capping’s and dash are intact and to complete the luxury is the original set of lambswool over rugs and rear foot stools.
The car is running a matching and correct set of Avon Turbo Speed tyres, its as clean under the bonnet as it is in the cabin. The 6750cc engine was fitted from new with twin SU carburettors which must have been a special factory order as the car was manufactured 9 months after production switched to the Bosch fuel injection system.
Maintained throughout its life by Rolls Royce and Bentley specialist, not been skimped on or penny pinched, covering less than 100 miles between services in its latter years, the main owner of the car from 1990 to March 2019 took it religiously to Royce Service and Engineering in London. The service record mileage’s are:

All the electric windows, seats, mirrors work correctly, all the dash clocks, gauges, outside temp, interior lights work, central locking operates on every door. Fitted from new with an early mobile phone system, very well hidden in the passenger armrest, its complete, even has instructions, sadly obsolete but I’m told you can digitize them.
All the original tools, jack, wheel brace correctly stored in the boot, comes with both original keys, all the handbooks, instruction books, service book, wallet and a large amount of service invoices, old MOT’s and receipts.
If your worried about the fuel economy it’s not the car for you, MPG is not great but liveable, it came back from London on 1 tank costing £80. Road tax is £260 a year and I have it insured on a classic policy for £168. Currently MOT’d until Dec 2019 will happily arrange a full MOT and fill the tank with fuel at the asking price.
Close inspection of the body will find minor defects, no blisters, cracks or crazing anywhere on the panels, wheel arches all good, the rears still have the black spats fitted. The cruise control is not working, will never have been used looking at the miles being covered annually and the door capping’s are starting to craze, apart from that I can’t find anything to mention on this 33 year old classic.
Plenty of these models to choose from, this one stands out from the crowd with low mileage, good history and excellent condition, I’ll be sorry to see it go but its time for someone else to enjoy it.
