S1 Continental Aluminium Body by James Young, body design CT29. The 1957 Earls Court Motor Show car, first of only twenty made on the S1 chassis and one of only fourteen right hand drive. Mileage is 135k miles. Number plate not included.
Combination of 4. 9 Straight Six with high compression head, 4 speed auto, power steering and active rear suspension settings normal or hard make this a fantastic drive. c200kg weight reduction in the body over the standard steel body is major transformation in the performance and handling. Sunroof with wind deflector and tinted visors fitted also.
A full mechanical recommissioning completed in 2023 including all service items, brakes, carburettors, head and sump gaskets, five new tyres and the fit of a new Connolly leather interior to the specification of original build sheet, VM3428. Full history file plus recent maintenance file available on viewing the car. The car was given a bare metal respray in the 80's changing the colour from Lavender Grey to silver. The paint is still presentable with a few light scratches and bubbles, have left this to keep the car practical and useable. The chrome hubcaps have been restored, the rest of the chrome is scheduled to be restored shortly.
This car recently was driven from West of Scotland to London and back North a few days later returning in under seven hours, running perfectly averaging just over 20mpg. Spring maintenance is an oil and filter change plus coolant flush and refill along with adjustments and checks.
