Summary

This incredible and very rare 1985/ 6 model year Yamaha RD350 N1 was registered in the UK by a Yamaha Main Dealer on 26th August 1986. This fully restored matching numbers machine is without doubt the best we have ever seen and probably the best in the country with its outstanding attention to detail.

The N model was only made for 9 months in 1985 so very rare indeed. It's understood that only 1300 N (naked) models bikes were produced of which only 500 officially imported by Yamaha UK, this is one of those bikes.

HPI clear, fully serviced, long MOT and ready to enjoy.

Supplied with the original owners manual, Original genuine Yamaha tool kit, and 2 genuine matching Yamaha keys, one key fits all main locks, The steering lock was always a separate key and again comes with 2. This really is a great opportunity to own such a rare machine.

We will consider any part exchange with funds either way, no matter what it is. We have buyers in all fields of expertise so we would consider modern cars, vans, caravans, motorhomes, motorcycles and of course any nice classic so just give us a call or drop us an email.

More Details

To the uninitiated, the new RD350LC that Yamaha rolled out in 1983 may not have looked that different to the original but a small logo on the rear seat unit hinted at something special. It read YPVS, which actually stood for something - Yamaha Power Valve System - and, even better, it really meant something in terms of performance.
The YPVS consisted of a microprocessor-controlled servomotor, which in turn controlled a spool-shaped exhaust port valve that allowed continual variable port timing. But if that all sounds too technical it simply means this - Yamaha had found a way of extracting more power from the engine at peak revs without losing any low down grunt.

It was an ingenious invention but by no means the only improvement over the first 350LC. The front forks now featured variable damping and the single rear shock was of a rising rate rather than ancient cantilever design. With an upgraded engine and superior suspension, the Powervalve Yam was now an even better machine both on road and race track. Those who aspired more to racebike looks could later buy the RD350F fully-faired model, while naked bike fans could have the more traditional RD350N.

1985: The first fully-faired version is released and dubbed the RD350F. Street bike fans were given the alternative of a naked bike called the RD350N. These are the rarest Powervalves as they were only produced for one year.

These original short production run Elsie's are very desirable and original immaculate examples such as this are a rare find.
