RA Classics are pleased to offer for sale this lovely example of a 1968 Morris Minor 1000.
Presented in externally in Trafalgar blue with period correct Old English White wheel hubs and grille along with the correct Blue/ Grey interior colour-scheme, this very original and unmolested classic offers arguably one of the purest and most rewarding classic car ownership experiences. The Morris Minor has long been amongst the most recognisable, familiar and endearing British classics which provokes a warm feeling of nostalgia amongst all who remember it.
This particular example was purchased to fill an entry in the recent Vale of Clwyd Classic regularity rally. Completing the circa 145 (almost continuous) miles of the event without fault! In preparation for this event, the 1098cc engine underwent a comprehensive strip, service and rebuilt to ensure that all components were in good, clean condition. The car has also had a new clutch installed to ensure the restored engine’s performance was reliably transmitted. The car’s brakes, suspension and plumbing have also been serviced to maximise reliability.
The car in its current condition renders it suitable for a wide variety of ownership applications. Cosmetically, the minor would benefit from some attention, with the paint displaying a few imperfections and some relatively minor dents and dings in the bodywork. The interior displays only the expected levels of wear and would easily and inexpensively be restored. As mentioned, the car runs well and the major boxes have been ticked regarding it’s mechanical reliability going forward.
This Morris Minor would, therefore, be perfectly suited to continued use as an inexpensive regularity rally car. Alternatively, for those wishing to cut their teeth in classic car ownership, maintenance or restoration; this car is the ideal starter being simple and inexpensive to maintain. It’s readiness to be used straight away renders it ideal for the enthusiast with only enough time to dip in and out of working on it.
