Lot 24 - A 1976 Puch M50 Grand Prix sports moped, registration number OHO 638P, frame number 2102 093, engine number 2102 093, bronze. Sports mopeds of the 1970s were part of teenage culture with many a rider cutting their teeth on one of these 49cc screamers. All of the large Japanese manufacturers offered similar machines with Yamaha’s FS1E, Honda’s AP50 and the Puch Grand Prix being amongst the most popular. The Puch had a top speed approaching 50mph and fuel consumption of over 100mpg all of which made the moped a very desirable machine for any teenager. This particular M50 GP has formed part of a private collection. It is a low mileage machine with one previous owner and is presented in very original condition. The Puch will be offered for auction with a history file containing the original sales receipt and handbook and will require recommissioning after a period in dry storage. V5C, MOT and tax exempt.
