This incredible W123 300D remained in one family’s ownership from new until 2012, then only one owner since. It has covered just 77, 425 miles from new backed up by a full service history and remains in exceptional and completely original condition.
Supplied new by H. L. Gorner LTD in January 1984 and specified with Thistle Green metallic paintwork complemented by rare Olive velour. The 3-litre diesel is backed up by the preferable four-speed automatic and drives through its original ‘Mexican Hat’ alloy wheels.
The original owner absolutely doted upon this car –it was religiously garaged and perfectly maintained. In the last seven years it has been in the hands of a knowledgeable and exacting Mercedes enthusiast who has continued to always keep the car garaged and correctly maintained. And having had such careful custodians from new explains how this 300D has come to survive in such perfectly preserved condition.
Full service history with all books and manuals, and a folder of supporting paperwork. HPI clear.
The body and underside are completely rust free and original with beautiful paintwork and unmarked chrome/ brightwork. The interior is quite incredible with rich dark Olive velour and unmarked Zebrano wood. Original radio. Sharp defined grain remains on the steering wheel.
The driving experience is remarkable – this is exactly how these cars should (but often don’t) drive. It feels as if it has just rolled out of the showroom with pin-sharp steering, smooth performance and not a squeak or rattle to be heard.
An unrepeatable chance to acquire a truly superb W123 300D. The diesel models were usually bought to drive big mileages and, as a result, almost none are left in first class condition.
This is one for the collector who appreciates its rarity, provenance, originality and condition.
