Description
1967 original 390 GT S Code Ford Mustang Fastback in excellent condition.
Restored in the mid 1990’s where it was painted in its stunning Burgandy/ Sion Black Cherry metallic paint which makes this car stand out in a crowd. I have several photographs of the restoration. All floors and major panels look to be original sheet metal so this is strong, original car which is hard to find, absolutely stunning example.
Engine: Car is fitted with the sort after ‘Holy Grail’ 428ci Police Interceptor engine, c/ w Lemans rods, 1U Crank, Forged 10. 5:1 pistons, Edelbrock performer cylinder heads, Erson solid lifter cam and roller rockers, Edelbrock Manifold and Demon 4 barrel carb. ARP bolts and fasteners. Mallory Hyfire Ignition and Mallory Unilite distributor with Taylor leads. Engine rotating assembly fully balanced from vibration damper to clutch pressure plate.
Very quick car with a simply awesome sound with the 7 litre engine breathing through a free flowing Flow Master exhaust system.
Drivetrain: McLeod flywheel and hydraulic throw out bearing. Centre Force clutch. 4 speed Ford Top Loader gearbox with Hurst Competion Plus shifter.
The 4 speed manual transmission is complemented with a Gear Vendors overdrive unit that makes cruising a pleasure. Activated whilst in 4th gear with a simple push button on the Hurst shifter.
Rear axle is fitted with a Ford 9” posi with 4:1 CWP and Currie 31 spline axles, so brutally quick through the gears but matched perfectly with the Gear Vendors overdrive.
Interior black and fitted with usual GT refinements and 8k tachometer. GT equipment group, deluxe steering wheel, sport deck rear seat and modern day, authentic look digital stereo.
Complete with Marti Report showing car was built at San Jose as an original 4 speed, burgundy 390GT S code. I still have a copy of the original purchase receipt!
This car is a real head turner and goes and sounds as good as it looks. Not to be missed.
Very reluctant sale as it has taken me four years to find the right car but circumstances means it has to go. Please contact me if you need any further information.
Car is U. K. registered and ready to go.
