Description
Morgan 4/ 4 Lowline – 3 Owners & 20, 000 Miles
Introduced in 1936, the Morgan Plus 4 was the Morgan Motor Company’s first car with four wheels – the model designation ‘4/ 4’ stood for four wheels and four cylinders. Always a popular choice for sports cars enthusiasts across the globe the combination of 1930’s styling with modern performance and reliability has ensured this car is as popular today as it was in 1936.
Ordered in 1993 by Mrs Blackburn, who lived on the Isle of Wight, the lady had to wait well over six years her much loved 4/ 4 Lowline to finally arrive from Libra Motive London.
Mrs Blackburn took a no expensed spared approach to ownership from day one with the very best specification being ordered from the factory including special order Indigo Blue paintwork, chrome wire wheels, stone auto-calf interior, easy fit mohair hood, walnut dash, Mota-Lita steering wheel etc…. the list finally exceeded £31, 000. Mrs Blackburn owned the Morgan until 2014 when the car passed to the second owner with just 15, 000 miles on-the-clock.
The Morgan initially came to us from the second owner in 2018 with just 19, 000 covered. We sold the car to the third owner, a retired Bentley engineer, who has used and enjoyed the Morgan only selling her to make way for another Milestones purchase.
The history folder is one of the best we have seen with correspondence form 1993 – Morgan’s are unique as in having a history folder older than the car! – including original specification selection, sales literature, drivers handbook, all MOT’s, and every service totalling thousands of punds…. it is a remarkable testament to previous owners commitment to maintain the car in tip-top condition.
Today the Morgan drives as good as she looks. To understand the allure of these classic sports cars you really do have to drive one – they really do tick every box.
Equally at home on long distance continental tours or simply a trip to Goodwood Revival we recommend early viewing in order to fully appreciate the charm of this true British icon.
