Harley XLH 883 imported into UK in 1990 converted to 1200 cc prior to import professionally (a common modification) gearing upped by one tooth (22 tooth drive sprocket) to suit higher power (65 bhp) matching engine/ frame numbers. Originally a chain drive 4 speed 1987 California special with Vacuum ignition advance and complex breather system, replaced by crankcase breather/ filter, twin output coil, points and condenser with mechanical advance (for ease of maintenance). (UK V5, dvla registered as manufactured 1986)
Very good condition for a 32 year old bike and mechanically sound with good compression. Returns 65 mpg
Mildly customised with twin filler 2. 5 us gallon tank and central tank mounted speedo at some point, very low recorded mileage so can not be verified.
Handles surprisingly well and ridden most of its miles in my ownership in the French alps.
Slashcut exhausts with db killers fitted (easily removed) roadrider tyres approx. 3000 ago Motobatt high capacity battery fitted.
Some spares and toolkit, presently sorned but can mot for buyer.
