Selling my very rare VW Golf Rallye.
It's rare to find one in this standard, unmodified condition. A 4WD car, supercharged, flared arches very late 80's! 5, 000 were produced for rally homologation. All left the factory as left hand drive cars and had a selling price of double that of a Golf GTi.
It has full service history, original dealer folder, VW historic certificate and import paperwork (1999) when brought in from Germany.
The car includes: Recaro seats (a new replacement driver bolster is included in sale), factory sunroof, original VW front indicators (£400+, if you can find a set), Carbon fibre brake ducts (couldn’t find any original - please let me know if you’re selling a pair), stone arch guards, side rubber trim (£350+, if you can find a set), VW Gamma radio/ cassette with genuine surround.
Current registration for MoT check is G5 OVW, but will revert to G611 LNP for sale. The plates on a couple of photos are the original German/ Stuttgart registration (for show only). Since 2001 the car has only driven 4, 500 miles. It’s garaged and very pampered, including a full Swisvax wax detail/ paint correction recently.
The car has recently been to VW specialist PSI Tuning in Stoke where it had a very thorough service and minor mechanical restoration, including a rebuild of supercharger and a new immobiliser. The total bill was £4. 2k.
G5 OVW plate is not included in the sale but is available for sale separately.
I will consider exporting to Europe or the US.
