The BMW M5 has long been the flagship sport saloon, and the E39 iteration, produced during the BMW golden era of the 1990s and 2000s, was peak BMW.
This early production example from 2000 in stunning Silverstone Metallic with black leather still impresses today.
The car is in remarkable original condition and has clearly been very well maintained over its 20 year life. Adding to the already beautiful shape of the E39, the bulbous arches, deep-dish wheels and quad exhausts give the car immense presence.
The interior feels special, too. On top of the impressive spec, the chunky M-Sport steering wheel and bolstered, electric and heated leather seats leave you in no doubt about what car you are in.
And then, there’s the engine. The legendary 4. 9 V8 manual, regarded as one of BMW’s finest ever, starts with a burst of noise that comes from the upgraded stainless exhaust. The performance is startling, too, with the 394bhp and 369lb-ft hurtling you to 60mph in just under 5 seconds!
Crucially, the car has a full service history covering its 112k miles (main dealer to 86k and BMW specialist thereafter) and has had recent work carried out including a full service, new clutch and flywheel, new genuine brakes all around plus lots more.
This is not the usual tired and abused example and must be the finest on offer in Ireland right now.
