Owned by an enthusiastic motoring family, this smart Tiger has been used in touring events here in the UK and abroad, including taking part in the 2015 Coupe Des Alpes and has been part of a collection of interesting cars.
Sold new to the USA, the Tiger was brought to the UK in 1994 by its then keeper who kept it until the early 2000s. It passed through several hands until it was acquired by the current owner in 2011. According to the Bonhams catalogue entry from when the current owner purchased the car, it was the subject of a total restoration in the late nineties including a bottom-up engine rebuild by LJS Precision Products (Aerospace) of Southampton.
Bonhams state that a more powerful 4. 7 litre engine is fitted. This has been set up on a rolling road and produces about 210 bhp. It features an Edelbrock manifold with a Holley carburettor, an oil cooler, a performance coil, and an alloy radiator with twin electric fans has been fitted to keep things cool. A new clutch and flywheel were fitted about 1, 000 miles ago.
The car has been well maintained by experts with ongoing maintenance and improvement including a thorough mechanical checkover last year by a specialist garage.
Willans harnesses are fitted along with a mohair hood, a Motalita steering wheel, alloy wheels, a fire extinguisher (not tested!), and a Pioneer CD/ radio unit.
The Tiger remains in very good order and is ready for the next custodians to enjoy.
