Manufactured in 1965 to 1966 spec, this particular example was dispatched from the Norton factory at Plumstead to Milburn Motorcycles in Cumbria on December 10th, 1965.
It would appear that the influx of Japanese bikes into the UK had already started to have a marked effect on British bike sales, as this Jubilee sat in the showroom until June 1967 - being registered on June 21st on an 'E' registration......
Only 6 owners from new (myself since Jan 2008 & the previous owner since June 1988).
Original matching frame and engine numbers.
Completely restored by myself (a fussy automotive engineer with decades of motorcycle rebuild experience!) - using approximately 85% of the original components.
As can be expected, there has been a comprehensive shopping list along the way to ensure that the end result is a standout example, and, quite possibly, the best example on offer for sale today anywhere in the world.
Brief lowdown of work carried out........
Full engine and gearbox rebuild - inc crankshaft main and big end bearings, conrod bolts, piston rings, valve springs etc., etc., plus all seals, gaskets, springs, fasteners as required.
Frame and all black parts powder coated/ 2 pack painted.
Original Dunlop wheel rims rechromed and rebuilt with polished stainless spokes.
All bodywork painted in stunning candy apple red.
New wiring loom and switches.
12 volt upgrade using Rex Caunt regulator/ rectifier.
Boyer Bransden electronic ignition (usually always starts 2nd kick!).
Fortune spent on rechroming to a very high standard.
New high quality seat supplied by R K Leighton.
Many bespoke stainless fasteners, plus a lot of original fasteners hand polished and replated.
Unused since restoration - though runs, selects gears and charges as you would expect.
Massive file folder of invoices, details etc. plus literally hundreds of photos pre stripdown/ during rebuild/ completed.
Speedo displaying 12, 882 miles (believed genuine, though no way of confirming).
