Hexagon Classics are delighted to offer this very well-specified, low mileage BMW E61 545i, which has been owned by just one family. Fewer than one in four of BMW 5 Series E60 range models produced were E61Touring versions.
The BMW E60 series’ final design was developed by Davide Arcangeli under BMW Design Director Chris Bangle. The body of the E60 was made using aluminium for the front of the car, and steel for the passenger cabin and rear. The production version was not officially unveiled until the Paris "Mondial de L'Automobile" in September of 2004.
The 545i was equipped with the N62 version of the V8 engine, which produced 333 bhp at 6, 100 rpm and 450 Nm torque at 3, 600 rpm. 0 -62 mph was reached in just 5. 9 seconds. Load capacity is enormous with up to 535 litres capacity with the 60:40 split folding rear seats in place and an incredible 1, 650 litres with them folded down.
These BMW Tourings have always had a very healthy following, and the recent rise in market values of the rare M5 version, (just 222 RHD UK cars), has meant that collectors have turned their attention to the other powerful Tourings in the E61 stable.
Supplied new by Park Lane BMW in March 2005, this excellent 545i Touring has benefitted from regular dealer servicing and is maintained up-to-date and ready to be enjoyed. The original driver’s book pack and spare keys are with the car.
