Description

Up for sale is my 1980 Z1000H. As many know this was the first fuel injected bike from Kawasaki. This bike is almost completely original and is very low mileage. Frame number is 418. There are various estimates as to how many were built/ sold but I’ve not yet anyone who has seen a frame in 4 figures so I’m guessing less than a 1000 in total – happy to be corrected though.
Paintwork, exhausts, mirrors etc. are all original and the bike does show some age related patina – but not a lot give its 40 years old!. I have resisted the temptation to fix these as it adds to the originality and character (well I think it does). This bike has not been restored and was originally imported from Germany 6 years ago.
Bits I know are not 1980 original as I’ve replaced them personally are:
• Tyres/ tubes (and the air obviously ? )
• Regulator/ rectifier – it’s an Electrex one and I do have the non-regulating original should you really want it or happy to swap for the original one on my other H.
• Oil/ Filters/ Brake fluid etc.
• UK Speedo – I have the original German one and its showing 26, 474 Km which I believe is genuine based on the bikes condition. UK speedo showing around 4, 000 miles. So about 20, 500 miles in total.
• UK headlight – I have the German original.
• Battery
• Wheel Bearings
There may be some other small items non original but I can’t think of anything specific now.
Bike starts and runs like a dream – very smooth and quiet engine – so much smoother than my Z1!
This bike was the Z1000H that was on the Z1owners club stand at Stafford inn 2016. I’ve also done trips to France and Germany on it.
Why am I selling it? – Well I have another Z1000H which was sitting in the back of the garage and had been ignored for far too long. During lockdown I’ve recommissioned this other one so one bike has to go. This one is about as standard as you can get unrestored (I think).
Any questions please ask, if you need more photos please ask. I’m more than happy for the bike to be viewed prior to purchase – in fact I’d recommend it. I think the price is very reasonable – let’s see if those interested agree or not. I have it advertised elsewhere so if I get a reasonable price from that it may be removed.
If an overseas bidder wants to bid then they are responsible for pickup and shipping but I am happy to work with their shipping agent as necessary.
