I’m listing this one as a project bike, but for no other reason than it’s sat unused for a number of years.
The bike is an ‘86, UK registered from new, R80RT monoshock., and although its very average from a cosmetic point of view, it’s mechanically very, very good indeed. I would suggest an excellent basis for a rolling restoration, or basis for a custom.
From a negative point of view, the bodywork / paintwork is not great, the seat has a break to the cover, and the locking pin is missing, no toolbox or tools, and there’s a missing indicator. On a brighter note, with fresh fuel, a battery, and a carb strip and clean, she’s off the button, with a strong sounding engine, and correctly extinguishing oil and charge lights. Tyres are excellent, there’s a full stainless exhaust system, Factory luggage, and a recent Hagon rear shock. I’ll be checking clutch and gearbox with a short run out this week, just to confirm they’re good. Mileage is showing only 34k, which to be honest, I’m struggling to believe given the cosmetics, but looking at the MOT history, I can’t disprove, and as I say, she’s excellent mechanically.
All in all, she has the makings of a good bike, and I simply don’t have the time or the space to take this one to the next level. As ever, I’ve tried to price the bike VERY competitively, and can probably help out with items such as seats, indicators, etc, at minimal prices should you wish.
