1964 Austin Vanden Plas Princess 4 Litre R All Aluminium FB60 Rolls Royce Motor With Borg Warner Model 8 Automatic gearbox and Power steering . Austin's Flag Ship Luxury saloon finished by Vanden Plas works in Kingsbury London . An estimated 6999 examples were produced this being one of them . Part of a private collection and sold by a prominent auction house who claimed its 27, 000 miles to be correct . The V5C records 2 former keepers . The last owner has undertaken considerable engine work and has also recommissioned the 4 Litre R . It is currently MOT tested until 19/ 8/ 2021 with NO advisory's . Presented with Peat over Stone coachwork with hand painted gold line . Beautiful original interior with light beige hide seating , Front seats being fully adjustable and have folding arm rests , Polished Walnut and Wilton carpets complete the luxury interior along with folding walnut veneered picnic trays to the rear . After a 60 mile road trip I can report that the VDP 4 Litre R is a joy to drive . Its quite , Smooth and quite nippy for a big luxury saloon . The oil pressure maintains well and no overheating is noted . The gear change is smooth in operation and the brakes are powerful . A minor brake noise was noted but we will attend to this .
