Description
The car is mechanically & structurally sound, it has an advisory free MOT to November 26.
The paint is showing signs of fading and has some crusty bits but is solid.
During my ownership the car has had all of the interior leather repaired and re-colonised, new carpets and headliner plus all of the wood has been removed and re-veneered, during this process both front & rear window glass was removed and new rubbers were fitted. Some welding was required because of water ingress through the old rubber in the rear , I fit a new battery, & header tank, new top & bottom hoses, heater hoses plus new plugs and points & the engine, rear axle oil and filter has been changed, a new rear axle inspection cover gasket & a new gearbox kickdown cable was fitted.
A new super rad and reconditioned water pump plus volute gaskets & O ring were fitted.
On the front suspension a new f/ o/ side wheel bearing, kingpin fulcrum pin, shims rubber bushes & castle nut were replaced & on the r/ n/ side a new half shaft seal, wheel bearing, and both rear brake shoes plus brake cylinders were fitted.
The power steering box was removed and reconditioned. A new r/ n/ side spring and new engine mountings were fitted.
Earlier this year the car has had the head gasket replaced, also the valve tappet covers, the side water jacket gasket covers & the carb to inlet gaskets were replaced the cooling system has been flushed and replaced with new coolant.
And finally this year I sent the speedo off to be reconditioned & re calibrated.
I have had an enormous amount of fun bringing this car back to a useable rare classic, it is a car of character and was built to compete with the Bentley and Jaguar of the 60s, It is very useable even in today’s traffic and ready to drive away.
Road tax and MOT exemp but it has had an MOT every year during my ownership.
