Description
What could be more traditional than a "Big Healey"? How about a British Racing Green Big Healey?
Registered in August 1965, DAV 341C is a "BJ8" Mark III. These cars represented a significant update over earlier cars featuring larger SU carburetors which helped boost power to a claimed 150bhp, servo-assisted brakes, and a top speed of 120mph.
Equipped with rear seats the cars made a practical 2+2 alternative other sports cars of the time which combined with a long history of competition success enjoyed by Healey made the car an attractive proposition then as they are today.
Most 3000's were exported to the US and UK right-hand drive cars are therefore relatively rare. Fortunately, this is exactly what DAV 341C is, an original UK right-hand-drive with engine, body, and chassis number stampings that match the appropriate documentation. A rare find indeed.
Better still from 2012 – 2014, she underwent a fantastic, fully documented, nut and bolt restoration which has left here today in as new condition with only 500 miles of road test mileage recorded.
Mechanically the car is in first-class order. The engine is smooth and mechanically quiet and steering brakes and suspension taught and responsive. She is an absolute pleasure to drive.
With only 7 previous keepers over the past 55 years and supplied with a heritage certificate, V5, 12 months MOT, all receipts and bills, and a CMC warranty, this car is turn-key Healey motoring. One of the best “big Healey’s” we have seen. You will not be disappointed.
