Too many projects, too little time...
As part of rationalising my classic collection, I've decided to part with my NSU Prinz. It's a massively characterful car, drives really well but I just haven't got the time to use it and I really can't allow it another winter languishing in storage.
The NSU features an air-cooled, rear mounted 600cc twin. It buzzes along quite happily, and leaves the sound of the engine behind as you build up speed. It features finned alloy drum brakes all round. Inside it's quite spacious and the seats and trim are the originals. The floor is covered with heavy rubber matting which was added for aesthetics rather than anything else, but the new owner may prefer to reinstate carpets - as original, and much lighter...
Everything works as it should, even the front wing mounted parking lights.
The NSU was bought as a light restoration project, the body was incredibly solid and original, and only reguired a few small local repairs. This is not a concours car so please don't come to view expecting perfection - it wears its years. I had originally considered a full body resto and repaint, but in the end, I decided to keep the patina. So it has mismatched panels - the drivers door has been swapped at some point - and there are dents and scratches. With some body work and a repaint, it would easily be worth double what I'm asking. You could either make the investment and make it perfect, or just enjoy a survivor as it stands - and be the only one at any event you turn up to...
Parts supply is surprisingly good for such a rare car, even if they do have to come in from Germany. NSU-Autoteile stock most things you need.
It was MoT'd earlier in the summer, and the only thing noted was an exhaust blow. This has got slightly worse on the return trip. I will try and get this sorted before sale. It's not a massive thing but I would rather be completely honest than have someone make a wasted trip.
