Jaguar XJ Sovereign SWB – 18, 000 miles from new
The Jaguar XJ (X308) is the third and final incarnation of the XJ40 platform that was in production between 1986 and 2004. The Sovereign represented the highest specification for this Jaguar range with burr walnut in abundance, supple fluted leather seats and a suspension specifically set up for comfortable long-distance touring. Today these ‘end of the line’ cars are highly desirable but difficult to find with many having fallen from grace with multiple owners and inter-galactic mileage.
Milestone Classics are delighted to offer to market this truly magnificent 1998 Jaguar XJ that has been stored since 2003 in a heated/ dehumidified garage and is outstanding in every respect. Just two previous owners plus a Jaguar demonstrator when new the car is finished in Jaguar Topaz with contrasting Oatmeal leather trim.
The XJ was recommissioned earlier this year including a full service, MOT (passed with flying colours) and a new set of Pirelli P7’s tyres. The silky smooth 4. 0 litre V8 is an absolute delight and the automatic gearbox makes this Sovereign a real Gentleman’s Express. Purchased after a long search by a lifelong Jaguar enthusiast the car is only being sold because of an unexpected change of circumstances.
Milestone Classics rarely market classics this new but we simply could not resist the quality of this Jaguar. On the road she drives superbly, the paintwork is unmarked and the interior superb with excellent leather and impeccable wood trim.
