EXTERIOR
This fantastic Oak Green example presents really nicely, the paint still retaining a deep and uniform shine all round. Looking closely there are only minor imperfections to report, including a few stone chips and a couple of small blisters in the paint. All of the plastic trims are in excellent condition with no scratches or fading, and amazingly the car is still fitted with its original dealer number plates.
INTERIOR
The interior of this Mk2 is in remarkable shape. There is none of the normal wear to the seats or carpets, and all of the dash and plastic trims are in first-class condition. The headlining is also perfect with no sagging, and the boot area is very tidy with the spare wheel and tools still neatly stored under the boot carpet.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
This example has an excellent VW service history having clearly always been very well maintained. The last service was carried out in October 2019 at 118, 034 miles and included a full inspection, new timing belt, water pump, thermostat, radiator, distributor cap, rotor arm, and all fluids.
WHEELS, TYRES AND BRAKES
The original 15-inch BBS alloys are in great condition with only a few minor marks on the rim edges. The car was treated to a brand new set of premium Michelin tyres less than 50 miles ago, at which point the brake discs and pads were also replaced all round.
HISTORY FILE
This GTI has the most amazing service record with twenty VW Main Dealer service stamps in the original service booklet. The last service was carried out by our local specialist in October 2019, and it included a cambelt change. The low mileage of 118k is further backed up with MOTs dating back to the late ‘90s, and with VW service invoices from the last 18 years. The original owner’s pack with all manuals is still present and it even has an original sales brochure.
