EXTERIOR
This low mileage, low owner example has to be the finest early R8 we have seen here at 4 Star. Paired with Quartz Grey sideblades the striking Daytona Grey paint is almost entirely unmarked throughout. The bodywork retains a stunning depth of shine with no unsightly scratches or car park dings to report, our studio photos really don’t do it justice. On closer inspection the Bi-Xenon Plus headlights are lovely and clear, and the black grilles show no signs of any damage or fading. Desirable upgrades include Audi Magnetic Ride, Bang and Olufsen, and front and rear parking sensors.
INTERIOR
The impressive R8 cabin presents in amazing original condition. The heated and electric sports seats are upholstered in fine black Nappa leather, which also extends to the door cards and steering wheel. Aside from only some expected light wrinkling to the driver’s side bolster the upholstery is truly superb, remaining wonderfully soft and supple having never been re-connolised. The carpets are still protected in the footwells by the original velour overmats, and glancing across the dash all the switchgear remains in fantastic unmarked condition. The aluminium gear knob and lever gate finish the cabin off perfectly and really add to the sense of occasion.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
With its high-revving naturally aspirated V8 and slick manual gearbox, this low mileage example ticks all the boxes, especially with a service history as amazing as this. The car has been religiously maintained every year at the supplying dealer, Guildford Audi, regardless of cost. There are 12 Guildford Audi stamps in the original service booklet, the most recent service having only very just been carried out at 30, 928 miles in September 2020.
WHEELS, TYRES AND BRAKES
The R8 sits on its factory 19-inch ‘double spoke’ alloys shod in a matching set of Pirelli PZero tyres. The wheels present very well in their original finish with only a few small curb marks to report on close inspection. Between the spokes the black R8 calipers appear in fine order too.
Equipped with the desirable Audi Magnetic Ride option, sensors in the car monitor the road conditions and adjust the damping effect by varying a magnetic charge which passes through a fluid-based shock absorber, delivering improved road handling, outstanding chassis control and excellent driving comfort. This adaptive suspension system has two selectable modes, Normal and Sport. Both front shocks were replaced at Audi in June 2019, the invoice totalling over £4, 300.
HISTORY FILE
This magnificent and now very collectable manual R8 was first registered in July 2007. It was supplied new by Guildford Audi and has been meticulously maintained by them ever since. The service book is fully stamped with an impressive 12 entries, all Guildford Audi, the most recent service having been carried out in September 2020 at 30, 928 miles. The MOT is valid until July 2021.
