We are privileged to offer this really lovely example of Morgans first four wheeled model, the 4/ 4.
The car is beautifully presented in dark blue with black leather interior. It comes with full weather equipment comprising hood and tonneau cover in double duck with matching side screens in a custom made zip up pvc bag.
The previous owner was a car detailer and that clearly shows when you lift the bonnet as the engine bay is a joy to behold.
Fitted with a Coventry Climax 10HP engine, our car was despatched from the Morgan factory on 14th April, 1938 and was consigned to Jacks of Belfast where the car was registered FZ 192.
A Meadows four speed reverse gate gearbox is fitted with synchromesh on 3rd and top gears.
The Morgan was the subject of a complete restoration in 1992 by early Morgan specialist George Proudfoot. A new ash body frame and aluminium panelling were fitted as part of the restoration.
More recently, in 2007, the engine was completely rebuilt, utilising a new Phoenix crank and rods, by Milford Vintage Engineering. There are further bills on file from Milford showing the car has been maintained regardless of cost.
Further items on file include a buff log book, correspondence with the Morgan factory, original handbook, service notes and a workshop manual and some MoT history.
Although restored some time ago the Morgan is in still first class order and could well be the finest Series 1 available for sale. Being a Coventry Climax powered car, it is VSCC eligible and therefore can be entered for all manner of interesting events.
