Description
Originally delivered in wedgewood blue with a midnight blue interior, this 1964 Triumph TR4 is a good candidate for a thorough body-off restoration.
The chassis is in restorable condition, with visible rust damage to the left rear beam. The body needs new floors and sills, as well as attention to the lower A and B posts and battery tray. The top rear fender area on the body tub should be repaired, while the rear fenders need to be replaced. Front fenders are repairable.
The interior should be completely renovated, but appears to be complete and original. Consider this Triumph TR4 to be mostly complete, though the front bumper is missing. 70. 919 mls on the odometer.
As expected on a nearly 60 year old restoration project, all technical systems on this TR4 need to be rebuilt. The engine is locked up, which is not much of an issue since the cylinder sleeves are removable. It has a standard 4-speed gearbox. Commission, body and engine numbers are within close range to each other, with which we assume this to be a matching numbers car. The car has wire wheels on the front axle and steel wheels on the rear axle.
Overall this is a very restorable TR4, for practical enthusiasts with metalworking skills.
