Here we have my Honda Civic Type R EP3 for sale.
2003 pre-facelift model with 36000 miles.
I bought this car with the intention of keeping it forever. I looked around for months trying to source the best one I could with the least amount of miles. It had to be rust free, completely standard, pre-facelift and very clean. As a Honda collector I knew what to look for.
Details.
The car is completely standard. There are no marks, scuffs or dents whatsoever. The inside in like new including the seats. I genuinely think it is one of the best you will find for condition and mileage (I will challenge you to find a better one…). These are getting collectable and are just starting to increase in value with many of them rusted out or written off. This has already happened to the DC2 Integra, DC5 Integra, Ek9 Civic, S2000 and FD2R Civic amongst others. This car will only increase in value if kept up together.
Service.
To keep the car in tip top condition and running order I have done the following (all done within the last 1000 miles);
New genuine Honda clutch
Replaced the lower control arms (not just the bushes)
Replaced the lower front engine mount
Carried out the valve clearance adjustment
Fitted 4x Brand new Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tyres
Replaced all disks and all pads with new Brembo parts
Stripped and powder coated all 4 wheels
Replaced spark plugs
Full undersealed
New brake hoses and fluid
New front ball joints
New stabiliser drop links
Replaced primary O2 sensor
Gearbox oil replaced with genuine Honda oil
New facelift steering rack to eliminate free play
Geometry carried out
Most of the work above was carried out at TGM Motorsport with receipts to show.
The car is in quite amazing condition for being 18 years old. Sills are solid and rust free - spot welds clearly visible and clean. It’s running as sooth as it came out the factory with no knocks or noises and Vtech comes in exactly as it should. Next on the list was to detail and dress up the engine bay with new bolts, nuts and washers along with a new rocker cover (if you know your Hondas you will know they all do this whatever the mileage or condition) however this will now be a project for the new owner. There is nothing negative to find in previous Mot’s and its last MOT in my ownership was straight through pass with no advisories. Original manual and booklet with 2 x keys and alarm fobs present .
The reason for selling is that I have too many cars to look after and have just purchased my dream car that I have been unable to find previously, another Honda! Im in no rush to sell the EP3 and would like it to go to a good home.
