EXTERIOR
This stunning 2006 example presents beautifully in pearlescent Black Sapphire. The paintwork retains a deep glossy shine and uniform colour across every panel, the front section also boasting professionally-applied paint protection film (PPF) to protect against stone chips. Looking closely there are no unsightly scrapes or scuffs to the bumpers or arches, and the back soft top is also pristine. All in all, an exemplary VX220 Turbo in one of the finest colour combinations.
INTERIOR
This cherished example is equipped with factory spec’d red leather seats, both in beautiful condition having seen only 15k miles of use. The interior throughout still feels really fresh and is free from any scuffs or marking to the delicate trims or entry sill covers. Finer details such as the gearknob and steering wheel both present like new, and in the footwells the floorpans are well protected by a set of genuine VX220 overmats. A truly timewarp cabin and a fabulous place to enjoy our twisty B roads, especially with the roof off.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The VX220 Turbo is equipped with a 2-litre turbocharged powerplant, which in this example produces around 245hp thanks to a Stage 2 remap. This desirable power upgrade was carried out by Thorney Motorsport in December 2006. Costing in excess of £2k at the time, the work included an ECU remap, new rear silencer, centre silencer, Hi-Flow cat, link pipe, and turbo downpipe.
The service book is fully stamped with entries at the following mileages: 2, 499 – 4, 364 – 5, 693 – 6, 646 – 12, 318 – 14, 358 – and most recently at 15, 081 miles in September 2020. The current MOT is valid until October 2021.
WHEELS, TYRES AND BRAKES
The VX220 sits on its original 17-inch alloys, all in perfect unmarked condition. The wheels are shod in a matching set of premium Bridgestone tyres with ample tread remaining at each corner. Brake-wise the car sports AP Racing calipers at the front with Brembos at the rear. The discs and pads have all been checked and are in fine operational condition throughout.
HISTORY FILE
This superb VX220 Turbo was first registered in July 2006. It has now driven a mere 15k miles in the hands of 6 owners from new, the current owner having purchased it back in 2016. The car has always been garaged, as is evident from its amazing condition, and the last service was carried out in September 2020 at 15, 081 miles. Since arriving with us the car has been fully inspected for the new keeper’s peace of mind.
