Imp Stiletto Silhouette Racer
This car was built by Delta Race Cars for Pat Mannion founder of Revolution Wheels for the 1980's Wendywools Special Saloon Championship in the UK.
The car is a full single seater silhouette racer, spaceframe, aluminium panels and fiberglass shell held on with Dzus fasteners and pins. Sitting on Revolution Split rims.

Initially built with a Hartwell Imp engine. Running through a 5 speed Hewland MK9 big layshaft and 1" x 23 input shaft, inboard disks and centre nut peg drive hubs. The gearbox is rated at 180ftlbs by Hewland so suitable up to most 2ltr engines.
The car was initially white. Later upgraded by Pater Thurston to a Ford BDA engine along with strengthened chassis and updated suspension settings. The basic suspension stayed as Delta designed and built. Once completed improved the handling and Peter was able to peddle the car around Lydden just shy of a F3 car.
At that time it was re-panelled and a new fibreglass shell formed. Wheelbase std imp and silhouette above centreline of wheels std so meets many race, sprint and hillclimb regulations.
All components in good condition.

I have only used the car on a few track days and sprints Everything in good working order
Engine not included in sale but a Ford BDA, Xflow or Twincam will go straight in with modified parts supplied. Or re-install an original Imp based engine. plus many modern engine combinations including the Ford Zetec engine will bolt straight to the gearbox.

Included are full body moulds to replicate all panels - some suspension spares - spare disks - 4 spare Revolution Split rims and tyres -all unique parts to reinstall a Ford BDA / Xflow / twincam - custom dry sump - Hewland Ford adapter - water and dry sump pipes. - full length racecar jack.
