Vauxhall Nova, 1985 mk1 2 door saloon in Vauxhall Flame Red
The engine is 14NV (1. 4L) with a ported and polished head, Kent NVO61 Cam and adjustable cam pulley, Twin Webber 40DOCEs, Webcon intake manifold (port matched to carbs and head), upgraded rod bolts, Sportex exhaust manifold which has been matched to the head and a 5-speed F10 gearbox with rose-jointed linkage. The head was rebuilt end of last year (Cam belt and water pump also replaced at this time). The engine will rev all the way past 7000rpm, makes all the right noises and is estimated around 100hp.
The suspension consists of Gaz rear full coilovers, JOM coilovers on the front with spherical bearing top mounts and a Custom made front strut bar. This will go lower than it sits in the pictures although the ride quality does take a hit at the lower heights.
256 x 24mm vented brakes from a Calibra and the brake booster was replaced recently. Front discs and pads were done around a year ago and rear drums, shoes and rear wheel bearings were all replaced just before Christmas. Very good stopping power for such a light car.
The Bodywork is solid and in generally good condition for a car this age, lots of bodywork done and it was repainted a while ago although the paint could do with a flat and polish as it has crazed in the sun in some areas. ATS Cup wheels (15x7", 185/ 45R15 tyres) which were recently polished up.
Full SR interior which is in great condition, upgraded speakers and custom floor mats. Windscreen replaced for brand new last month due to stone crack.
The downsides: engine bay bodywork is a bit tatty vs the rest of the car, the gauges have some stress lines in the clear plastic and the fuel gauge is a bit dodgy when down below 1/ 4 tank
Overall a very good desirable and usable classic which are only increasing in value, will be MOT & Tax exempt in 4 years time. Comes with loads of receipts and service history (including original manuals) and will come with all the spares I have for it and a few litres of the correct paint. MOT'd until February 2022.
