I acquired this machine in August 2019 from a member of the Morini Riders Club (MRC), who had used it for two consecutive entries to the "Rally Colombres" in 2017 and 2016, but little else, with 27, 835 Km recorded. I too am a member of the MRC.
I have changed the engine oil (Synthetic 20/ 50W multigrade), fork oil (10W), repaired the starter motor power supply cable, added a fuel filter and new 'Viton' fuel hoses and stainless steel clips, rebuilt both carburettors with service kits from Eurocarb ( the engine ticks over at a steady 1, 200rpm, once warm). Replaced the brake pads in and serviced all 3 brake calipers, including new brake fluid. Fitted a new 'A' size timing belt from Mdina Italia, fitted a new one piece rear brake fluid reservoir to replace the original, but prone to leaking multi-part reservoir and re-wired the connections for the headlight/ sidelight and indicators within the headlamp shell with Japanese connectors. The fuel tank and taps do not leak and since owning the machine I have run it with Super-unleaded fuel and Castrol 'Valvemaster' lead replacement additive. The fuel tank was drained as were the carb float bowls over winter.
The bike runs and handles well, with Avon 'Road Riders' front and rear tyres, the gears all engage smoothly and the machine past the MoT test on 14/ 4/ 2021, with no advisories. The silencers are 'Armour' stainless steel replacements and do not strangle the engine, yet emit a nice deep note.
Cosmetically, the previous owner used a vinyl patch to cover an area of paint around the tank filler that had reacted badly to ethanol fuel; it is not a thing of beauty, but a practical solution. There are some scuffs to the front of the mirrors and some stone chips to the outer engine cases and the central cross tube of the frame below the engine.
Overall, I would describe the machine as being in good mechanical condition and clean for a 35 year old. There is some paper work and history/ invoices for the machine that will be passed on to the purchaser. I can answer further questions. Payment to be in full before the machine leaves my storage and no "test rides" as it is SORNED at present, unless you are insured, road tax the machine and I have the full agreed purchase price in my possesion.
