Description
Built in 2002 using a 1985 Ford XR2 as a donor car, the Quantum has covered 105, 000 miles, the originally fitted 1. 6 CVH engine has been swapped for a 2. 0L Zetec silver top from a Ford Mondeo.
The car is an excellent example, painted in Rover nightfire red, it’s very quick due to the large engine and light weight fibre glass construction. Despite this, insurance is cheap for new drivers and the car is good on fuel efficiency.
I purchased the car in 2018, during my ownership I have completed the following:
- Cambelt replacement
- Stainless steel Power Flow exhaust system (sounds great)
- Modern Sony head unit and speakers
- Digital coolant temperature gauge fitted, (original is not in operation as a result of the engine swap)
- Re-tailored door cards in black fabric
- Re-painted wing mirrors
- Replaced and re-trimmed rear window with a higher quality and more durable plastic screen
- Racing standard Momo steering wheel attached
Additional info:
- all electric locks, windows and wing mirrors
- K&N air filter
- Supportive Recaro seats
- 14" Alloy wheels, high quality tyres with lots of tred left.
- Upgraded radiator with more fins for greater cooling
- Well fitted roll bar
The car has a couple minor drawbacks, there are slight cracks to the bodywork at the front of the car and the gear change is a little loose, which can be sorted with a new bearing as can be seen illustrated in the Haynes manual provided.
The car will come with extensive service and repair history (see photos). The Quantum is in full working order, it starts and runs very well, it comes with 12 months MOT.
I’m selling the car due to being at university with no available parking, so I don’t have the chance to drive it, consequently it has been declared off-road and garage kept ever since.
Thanks for reading, please email/ call to arrange a viewing, the car is located in Hook Norton, Oxfordshire.
