Introduction
Here at Old Colonel Cars we have this superb, UK supplied, 2011 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X GSR SST FQ330. The Evo X was the last of the Lancer Evo’s, production officially stopping in 2016, with no more versions since. For many years the Lancers and the Impreza’s dominated rallying and so were constantly bringing out this ‘rally road’ versions, great for us petrol heads. So this 2011 car represents the best technology Mitsubishi offered at the time, each incarnation of the Evo getting the latest improvements.
This example is the rare FQ-330. I am sure you will read the reviews, for many this was the ‘sweet spot’ , plenty of savage power delivery, but controlled and much more usable. For the first time, there was an entirely new engine for the Evo, with the internal code 4B11T. Like previous Evo’s, the unit was still a 2-litre, turbocharged inline four, but the cylinder block was cast aluminium rather than cast iron. It was 12kg lighter as a result, used a timing chain rather than a belt, and featured MIVEC valve-timing for both intake and exhaust valves, rather than just the intake. This FQ-330 was good for 324 BHP in UK trim, power seemingly instantly available and very happy to rev. This produced a 0-60 time of 4. 4 seconds.
But with all that power you needed the right gearbox to enjoy it. On the FQ-330, finally the much applauded SST gearbox was available. The dual-clutch unit, dubbed TC SST (for Twin Clutch Sports Shift Transmission), featured six gears, with paddle sift control. This really suited this punchy engine and is defiantly the one to have.
Following the road-rally theme, this car has to have four wheel drive to keep this car planted. Well on this model you have four-wheel-drive, which is setup to send most power to the rear wheels, but allowing the drive to enjoy power and lift-off oversteer if driving conditions allow. For the technically minded, the S-AWC (Super All Wheel Control), incorporated Active Yaw Control, an active centre diff, the stability control system, and ABS. This also features the options to change the settings, with Snow / Gravel and Tarmac on the menu.
The Evo X was also 30mm than on previous generation, 40 per cent stiffer, and the new engine wasn’t just lighter, but positioned 10 per cent lower in the engine bay.

Bodywork / Interior / Wheels etc
The Metallic Black paintwork on this example is in excellent condition. Hopefully you can see from the many pictures and videos on our main site, this example looks fantastic from any angle. No noticeable dings or dents, just a lovely deep all over shine.
Inside this lovely condition continues. All original, factory Sport / Bucket cloth seats are in lovely condition, original mats etc.
The alloys are all in excellent condition, all fitted with an excellent set of Goodyear tyres.
Engine / Gearbox
The engine on this car runs and performs perfectly, from hot or cold. Instant response, lovely sounds from a properly cared for, fully serviced car.
The gearbox again works perfectly in all modes, it just had the gearbox oil changed at a specialist.
History
This UK model comes with full service history. We have the original Mitsubishi certificate confirming this is a uK FQ-330 example. We have all the original book in their original folder, an original fully stamped service book, a folder of service receipts / old Mot’s, a clear HPI report, both keys.
Summary
A great package, the perfect car for those weekend blasts. The rarity and low mileage means it will ever go into a collection with only light use, but perhaps better, treat yourself, use this as your daily car, they no longer make cars as fun as this, and with just 30, 000 miles, you can really enjoy it and put the miles on.
