Description

We offer for sale this sublime example of the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI RSII. The original left-hand drive versions (LHD) were produced in extremely limited quantities. The model presented here is a homologated special edition, named Mitsubishi Carisma GT Black Diamond, derived from the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI RSII and developed in 1999 by RalliArt Germany. It is distinguished by several exclusive aesthetic elements. Notably, it features “Black Diamond” badges, the “Carisma GT” monogram placed at the rear, as well as Recaro SR seats adorned with specific “Evolution VI” and “RalliArt Germany” embroidery. This special series was exclusively offered in a metallic black shade “Magic-Schwarz.” The exact production volume was never officially disclosed, although collectors’ estimates place this figure between 88 and 200 units. The RS (“Rally Sport”) versions are competition models homologated for road use. The RS2 designation corresponds to an intermediate finish, designed to offer the mechanical radicalism of the RS version while retaining certain comfort features from the public GSR version. Delivered new in July 1999 to RalliArt Germany, this example was subsequently registered for the first time in the Netherlands in July 2000, where it was maintained by independent specialists in rally vehicles. The vehicle later joined a German collection. The car is equipped with Enkei RalliArt wheels identical to those of the Tommi Mäkinen editions, as well as several other enhancements offered at the time by RalliArt Germany. The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI is often regarded as the apex of the “Evo” lineage. Launched in 1999, it celebrated Mitsubishi Motors’ successes in the World Rally Championship, notably thanks to Finnish driver Tommi Mäkinen, four-time world champion in succession. Beyond its competition record, the Evo VI also helped popularise the model with the general public thanks to its notable appearance in the film Taxi 2. The vehicles are viewable by appointment only.
