This much-loved TR was taken as part-exchange by BAM Specialist Cars from its 8th keeper. According to research done by the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust in 1986, chassis number CP/ 76310-0 was originally destined for the Australian market.
It has benefited from a full restoration - mechanical, body and interior, as well as the popular petrol injection to twin Strombergs carbs conversion. The Signal Red paintwork and chrome are in excellent condition and completely rust-free, plus, the tan leather interior is unblemished.
With a substantial history file including receipts right back to 1984, backing up the car's mileage and care over the past 49 years, with MOT history back to 2003 along with all of the major receipts, including that of the engine rebuild in January 2013 at 26, 211 miles. The car also comes with an original owner's handbook which is impressive! The car is fitted with an upgraded stainless steel exhaust system and it sounds fantastic, combined with the rack and pinion steering, it is just the tune for nipping along the country roads this Summer!
As well as two files full of receipts and invoices for the car, which has been regularly maintained by independent motor engineers who, as TR Register Members, are familiar with the marque; this TR6 comes with five very low mileage Vredestein Sprint Classic 185/ 70/ R15 tyres, a new black tonneau and new TR6 floor mats. With only around 4, 100 of these left on the road as of 2020, they are becoming increasingly rare. This is a well-maintained, honest 7 rust free and original car really is a treat.
