HERE is a 1967 factory original Minor convertible with MAT VIN number. She has to be a genuine bargain due to - and dare I say so myself - my buying prowess!
I am simply passing this on to the next wiling owner who will find this old girl a genuinely solid and pretty example with a stunning interior and excellent driveability.
She was totally restored in the late 90s (plenty of photos in the file to show that it was done properly) and clearly has had very little use since. She is on the button and is a really lively driver. Her compression on all four cylinders is excellent.
You will note the "Newton Commercial" front seats, especially designed for Morris Minors and this does make an enormous difference to both comfort and the actual driving position.
I don't think she will need anything in the way of structural work; just maybe some gently cosmetic tinkering. The metal dashboard could do with tidying, the horn button is missing and so are some studs at the rear of the red hood. The hood itself is absolutely fine, although the rear window is opaque and, as mentioned, you could do with tinkering with studs. All these things are (and please pardon the inevitable pun) minor.
Up and running. Ready to go. Look at their prices and then look at mine.
Please remember that these classic cars are the equivalent of motoring antiques and cannot, under any circumstances, be compared to your new BMW. Go around them with a fine toothcomb and you will find faults. They all have them unless they are presented as concours! They all need ongoing love and care. They tend to leak oil in varying degrees. They may break down, play up or even present you with a mystery that takes some solving. But that is all part and parcel of classic car ownership. They are there to be loved and cherished like a family pet. They are our motoring heritage and should be treated as such. This old girl for example is now 54-years-old.
