A rare low mileage example, only 59k miles (95k in km). Bodywork in good condition, very clean sills and arches with no rust or previous welding. In the classic combination of Silverstone colour with black interior. Comes with service history records and full 12-month MOT until August 2022.
Purchased from an elderly retired gentleman last year, who only occasionally used the car on weekends and garage stored it. Due to health issues and subsequent Covid restrictions the vehicle did not get any use since mid-2018. During my ownership, the car has been fully overhauled by a local specialist to address all maintenance, wear and tear items plus preventative work done including:
- New front and rear brake discs & pads
- New front brake hoses
- Brake fluid flush and new fluid
- New clutch master and slave cylinders
- New front ARB drop links
- Coolant flush and new Comma G48 coolant
- New battery fitted
- Full service (engine oil, air filter, thermostat and spark plugs)
- 4 new matching Goodyear tyres
- New front and rear number plates, plus front plinth
- New window wipers
- New sidelight bulbs
- Light corrosion on underside cleaned and fully undersealed
The car is fantastic to drive, the engine is very strong and the gearbox smooth. The car revs freely and the stainless steel sports exhaust has an incredible sound. Has 2 keys, an immobiliser fitted, CD player and also the original V-Special Roadster mats. Matching wooden steering wheel and gear knob, A/ c fully working.
Overall this is a great MK1 with a timeless retro look and feel when driving. I have owned a number of MK1s and this by far is one of the best which is why I had extensive maintenance work done with a view to keep the car long-term. The engine bay is original with no modifications from standard. A wind deflector and tan tonneau cover are also included. The car also has its original lightweight daisy alloy wheels with Eunos centre caps.
The price of these models has been appreciating in recent years, so it represents great value for this condition and low mileage. Any inspection welcome, but strictly no timewasters or test pilots. Price £3, 795.
