Description
This is my 1970 Yamaha Yds7 250 twin. The predecessor to the Rd250.
It has matching frame and engine numbers.
I purchased this last year. It had already been restored and all work carried out was prior to my ownership bar what I have just had done.
It was part of a collection and had been restored and rebuilt. I bought it last year and it had sat in my garage unused and unridden until about a month ago when I decided to start it. It wouldn’t start due to the carbs needing attention due to the bike standing for years since being restored. It went off to the bike mechanic and carb specialist who stripped and rebuilt carbs and replaced cables at a cost of £350. I have just put a new battery on too. So now it starts and runs and rides. I’ve not been far on it, only around the block to test it. The motor pulls strong and well. I would suggest it wants checking over and probably running in too.
It’s in lovely condition. The frame has been powder coated and has little gold flecks within it. Wheels are black.
It is showing only 4900 miles on the clock. I obviously can’t confirm that this is genuine but I wouldn’t be surprised. Lights and rev counter working, as is horn.
A lovely little Matching Numbers 250 twin.
I may be able to drop off very locally as I have an old van that I wouldn’t take too far from home.
Viewing and collection welcome. You can also arrange a courier if you wish. Full v5c in my name and address.
