With us here at RFH Classics we are delighted to offer this beautifully restored 1980 Yamaha FS1-E 49cc moped, finished in the iconic and highly desirable Competition Yellow with correct Speedblock decals, a colour scheme that perfectly captures the spirit of late 1970s and early 1980s motorcycling.
First introduced in 1973, the Yamaha FS1-E and better known as the “Fizzy” quickly became the must-have first bike for a generation, combining true motorcycle styling with a lively 49cc two-stroke engine and 4-speed gearbox. Unlike many mopeds of the period, the FS1-E offered a genuinely engaging riding experience, which is exactly why it remains such a cult classic today.
This particular example has been the subject of a full restoration and presents to an exceptional standard throughout. The paintwork, chrome and brightwork are all of a very high quality, and the bike retains the correct detailing including the Autolube system, pedal setup and period switchgear, all of which add to its authenticity. It is a superb, ready-to-enjoy example that has clearly been restored with care and attention to detail.
The FS1-E has long since moved from being simple transport to a highly collectible classic, and examples finished in Competition Yellow are among the most sought after. Whether for display, collection or occasional use, this is a fantastic opportunity to acquire a properly sorted example of one of the most iconic mopeds ever produced.

The bike qualifies for historic road tax and benefits from being ULEZ exempt. As a classic it is also eligible for low-cost classic insurance. All of our vehicles are sold clear of finance or insurance damage, with a certificate provided at handover. We recommend using premium unleaded fuel (E5) in all of our classic vehicles.
