Description
An original Jim Marland car – the founder of Proteus – this delightful example, constructed in 1987, successfully evokes the character of the amazing C-Type which won Le Mans in 1951 and 1953.
Finished in Royal Blue this car, like the originals, is powered by the wonderful 3. 4 Litre XK unit, but installed with Twin SU 2 inch carburettors and running through the successful Jaguar 4-speed synchromesh gearbox with Overdrive on 4th. The car is also installed with a live rear axle (instead of IRS as found on so many replicas) and runs on 16 inch rims shod with Pirelli Cinturato tyres. Its alloy body tub is finished with GRP Bonnet & Tail panels. The car drives beautifully, is immaculately presented and is extremely brisk!
With a substantial and comprehensive history file it is evident that this super Proteus C-Type has been very well owned and maintained by its previous owners (the last for 5 years) and we are confident that it will provide as much enjoyment for its future custodians as it has for the past 34 years!
