Beschreibung
1971 Plymouth GTX 440 ci V8 engine and 3 speed automatic gearbox and power steering, in Glacier Blue Metallic (B5 code) with black interior and black body-line painted stripes.
Originally restored in the USA and imported into the UK in April 2021 with some electrical issues, the car has been fully worked-through, with all major faults rectified and a perfectly running engine, gearbox and all major systems are working as they should be.
The car is certified original "440 4bbl V8 high performance" with Holley carburettor and a 3 speed automatic gearbox in perfect working order and an amazing sound through the new Simons mufflers.
Some other additions have been new Brake Servo and brake master cylinder, new rear brake cylinders, new ignition leads and coolant hoses, new Retrosound Hermosa radio and speakers, new Simons stainless steel mufflers, front and rear seatbelts, and Plymouth GTX embroidered floor mats.
The interior and the paint are in very good condition, although rust started to appear on the edge of the rear quarter panel and there are some very small micro blisters present on the bonnet. There are very small, only seen when they are pointed out and definitely not worth respraying the panels for that! but worth mentioning it.
Although it is in very good condition throughout, it has two issues which should be sorted:
- The brake pedal slowly sinks to the floor on extended brake applications. A new brake master cylinder and a new brake booster was fitted, but did not sort the issue. next steps are to replace the brake proportioning valve.
- The power steering pump has a slow leak it will need to eventually be replaced.
The price is according to the condition of the car and that some money needs to be spent to finish it, I just can't finish it myself as I have other projects which need finishing.
