2017 Pembleton Supersport
- Talk about unique! We are proud to present the first ever Pembleton we have had the opportunity to advertise for sale. These 3 wheel trikes have a very cool look and are much more "old school" than the newer trikes you see out there. The are also much more affordable than vintage trikes like the 3 wheel Morgan and are often regarded as being easier to drive as they are front wheel drive versus being powered by the single rear wheel. Not only are they unique looking but they have a very unique history. Designer Phil Gregory and his wife were about to go on holiday when she made an observation that the ferry that runs from Holyhead in Wales to Dun Laoghaire in Island was free for motorcycles and trikes.
- She suggested that Gregory build something they could ride in for free and he jumped into action thus the Pembleton was born. He ordered the steel and named it Pembleton after the caravan they stripped for the aluminum. This very cool custom Pembleton Supersport was built in 2017 and took until 2018 to complete. It is titled as a 2017 and is completely street legal and passes the TxDMV safety requirements. As far as we know it is 1 of only 4 registered in the US.
- It took over 1500 hours to build and is all handcrafted. Doing the math if you paid a shop $50 an hour to build it you would have $75, 000 in just labor not including all the components. It has an aluminum composite body with custom front fenders. It was constructed using 3. 2mm pop rivets with stainless dome covers. It has dual side mirrors, dual windshields and a middle rear view mirror. The front hood portion of the vehicle has a carbon fiber wrap for a unique look. It has 19 inch dual wire wheels up front with a 15 inch solid wheel in the rear.
- Getting this unique trike rolling is the front 1979 BMW R100 1000cc twin cylinder 4 stroke boxer motor.
- It was entirely rebuilt by Lovecraft Motorworks which specializes in BMW motors.
- The intake manifolds are 1 off creations by Brink Racecraft.
- Paired with the motor is a 4 speed transmission with a custom shifter set up to be able to control it from the drivers seat.
- When you go to build one of these the transaxle, conical bumpstop and rear suspension come out of a Citroen 2CV donor car. In England they are all right hand drive so the owner had to specifically get one out of France to create a left hand drive version.
- The Citroen 2CV transaxle includes inbound disc brakes and in back it has a drum brake which offers plenty of stopping power.
- The suspension set up is very unique utilizes springs and a hydraulic dampener.
- When you start to look it over you realize how cool of a design everything is and how much engineering Mr. Gregory originally put into his dream trike.
- The cockpit is complete with a Black leather seat which sits 2 people.
- The dash is engine turned aluminum and topped with Black gauges and all of your controls.
- As mentioned previously the shifter passes through the firewall where it attaches through the transmission to create a unique H shift pattern.
- The vehicle comes with a bunch of receipts and build diagrams. If you want something completely unique then this is definitely one to check out.
- You can't help but have a huge smile on your face when behind the wheel.
There is no way to build this thing for our asking price of only $19, 500. 00!
