For sale is my 1965 MK. 1 875cc Hillman Imp, which I’ve owned for 7 years it was in a barn for 13 years before that. Due to my age and lack of use that I’m selling it
Although lot of work has been done the car is not perfect, it still shows some rally battle scars and requires work – viewing welcome.
Rally history (that I have found- photos/ results available)-
1st in class, 15th overall, RAC International Historic Rally 1996 (won by Jimmy McRae in a Porsche)
1st overall Tour of Anglesey 1999 (Round 4 ANWCC Historic Championship)
11th Monte Winter Challenge 2000. 17th in class.
New omh seats, harness belts, steering wheel, alloys, tyres etc.
The car has a Belmogtwin MKII historic rally counter, Fire extinguishers for engine bay and car. (extinguishers need servicing). External and internal Electric and Extinguisher safety controls and adjustable shock absorbers.
Spares on photo included. Spare MKII engine had bigend refurb, head block skimmed, valves ground in, stainless manifold and refurbed twin strombergs etc. (stand not included)
The car is not drivable on road as it has stood through COVID and the clutch and brakes could do with bleeding and requires a new speedo cable fitted, I have reversed it out of garage to photograph and drove back in, engine does not tick over – lack of use?. Gear box has been Re-built and all gears work. The car passed MOT in June 2017 and has been taxed and insured for the road since.
Above milage is as on speedometer which is not working and milage is not accurate.
