Beskrivning
Honda Prelude 2. 0 16V EXi 4WS Ltd Edition Automatic (3rd Gen) in Marshall Silver metallic, first registered in April 1989, with very low mileage of just over 69K miles.
This is a Limited Edition model, it is extremely rare. In fact this is the only Ltd Edition car still actually on the road in the UK (9 others in total SORN). Ltd Ed. models got Aircon, leather, much deeper pile carpets, leather steering wheel and a boot spolier with inbuilt brake light. And it's also the desirable 4 Wheel Steer model, with 2 litre 16V 150BHP engine.
A problem on 3rd Gen cars of this age is structural rust, but this car has no problem in that regard and has as far as I aware, never been welded underneath. The government MOT check site makes good reading for this car and it was tested recently, so has an MOT expiry of September 2022. The bodywork is in exceptional condition having been painted in 2021. The interior is truly outstanding including the boot area, which still has its original tools, car jack and space saver spare wheel. New OEM stainless tailpipe trims were added at great expense.
Mechanically the car is in very good order and has had a lot of money spent which has included upper control arm bushes all round, upper and lower ball joints front and rear, strut brace drop link rubbers all round, motor mounts and the auto gearbox has been reconditioned and hence works perfectly including kickdown and sports mode. The cambelt (and others) replaced in 2019 at 65K miles (receipt and noted in service book). The car starts on the button and drives very very well with the 4WS working prefectly (one image shows)
This car has two keys, the original service book, owner manual, original brochure, some Tax Discs and MOT test certificates as well as many receipts especially for the most recent work on the car.
On the negative side the aircon doesn't work. The switch lights up, but the system has a leak which needs to be fixed before regassing. The cam cover could do with the paint renewing, but not much else.
In total I have spent well over 10. 5K on this car, but appreciate that some expense cannot figure in the resale price. This has to be one of the best and certainly will be the rarest, 3rd Gen Prelude in the UK, so why am I selling? Well, I was originally looking for a white manual example of the EXi 4WS (I had exactly that for 4 years in the 1990's), but only found a good enough one when I well into expenditure on the Ltd Edition car here. Unfortunately I can only keep one Prelude.
