The TC Baur:
The E30 is the second generation of the 3 series BMW which was produced from 1982-1994. The model is undoubtably a cult classic.
This is an uncommon variation of the BMW 3 series E30, being a BMW 320 Baur TC. Baur was a bodywork factory in Stuttgart that produced cabriolet models in small numbers for companies, including BMW. 10, 865 examples of the 320 Baur were built. Of this figure, only around 1, 000 were produced for the UK.
The benefits of the BMW Baur TC, from the standard 3 series cabriolet is the configuration of the roof. The car would have been built as a coupe and then modified by Baur. Baur cut out the roof and added a cloth one, leaving the side pilars and a brace between them in place. The construction is designed with a Targa top, with a landaulette, and with both parts removed it’s a ¾ convertible. It handles like a coupe thanks to the braces and weighs roughly the same.
Many of the Baur models have been modified over time, making original examples thin on the ground.

This is a good, solid example that is a useable classic. It will require some tidying to make it a top example, but it is a very solid start. This would make an ideal light winter project.

Work carried out:
Heater motor replacement, replacement rear bumper and rear lights (original parts), new clutch slave cylinder, after market front air dam, replacement gear knob and gator.
The car starts, runs and drives well, having been well tested by myself. Both hot and cold start are always perfect.
The only issues functionally are a non-working Rev counter and MPG counter on the dash. The fuel gauge also reads low.
Body wise: The arches are in very good condition in terms of corrosion. There are some small dings and scuffs around the car. Overall the lacquer is good. The bottom rear of the near side front wing is corroded, requiring a small repair.
Interior: The interior is original and is in good condition, apart from the drivers seat which has some cloth tears. The dash board is free from cracking.
The car has a current MOT which runs until 8th April 2022.
The car has: 1 set of keys, V5, HPI Certificate, original spare alloy.
The tool kit is lacking. The car has none of it’s original hand books or service records.
The car doesn’t have it’s tonneau cover for the hood.
