This beautifully presented Thistle Green Mercedes Benz 300SL has covered 78800 miles from new and comes with an exceptional history to include its original stamped service book, original Mercedes Benz data card, and warranty registration card in the name of its first owner, a lady retail shop owner in the Chichester area who owned the Mercedes Benz for 18 years. The SL also comes with its original spare keys, various manuals, old MOT certificates, logbooks and a comprehensive file of invoices for service and maintenance.
Portfield Garage (Chichester) Ltd supplied the SL on the 9th April 1986 and carried out the cars first two services at 1318 and 4562 miles. From 1988 a South Coast Mercedes Benz specialist began maintaining the car for its lady owner, stamping the book at 7829, 17971, 21457, 24121, 30745, 37714, 42933 and 48358 miles. In 1998 the supplying dealership Portfield Garage (Chichester Ltd) serviced the SL at 53882 and again at 59412 miles. In 2004 Mercedes Benz agents Rawsons TMS Limited serviced at 60908 miles and Mercedes Benz of Milton Keynes stamped the book in 2005.
Morgan Specialists Allon White Sportscars took over maintenance servicing the car at 65072 and 66249 miles, in 2008 an SL specialist serviced the car at 67189 and in 2013 at 71264 miles the car was serviced once again. Mercedes Benz Specialists in Surrey, TM Motors serviced the car at 75009 (new front brake calipers and power steering hose) and again at 76871 and also carried out regular general maintenance over recent years that has ensured the car has remained in top class condition. Along with the impressive service history are pages of invoices detailing both cosmetic and mechanical upkeep clearly demonstrating how meticulous the SL's owners have been.
C42 AOR is a beautifully correct, detailed original car that has never had opportunity to deteriorate. Its lady owner kept the car impeccably maintained during its first eighteen years, and since then having reached classic car status, the SL has seen continuous meticulous ownership that has kept the car away from corrosion and major wear and tear having been a garaged, weekend car.
